Dr Lia Laios

Dr Lia Laios is a perinatal and consultation-liaison psychiatrist and is the Unit Director of the new Women's and Perinatal Mental Health Unit, Monash Mental Health Program. She is focussed on public hospital service development to provide increased, accessible, integrated and evidence-based specialist psychiatric care to women in the perinatal period. Previously she has worked at the Royal Women's Hospital for nearly two decades. She has completed her Master of Psychiatry (University of Melbourne), Advanced Training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Graduate Diploma in Parent-Infant Mental Health (University of Melbourne/Royal Children's Hospital), and Parental Embodied Mentalising Assessment clinical and research certification (Anna Freud Centre U.K.), as well as training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT) and Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) teacher training.
